Crispy halloumi filo
A stunning festive appetizer !
These stunning halloumi pastries are not only visually stunning but also delicious with a cheesy core and crispy pastry exterior! I used the new LKK Yuzu Flavoured Chilli Sauce to shake up the spice! The lovely tangy and spicy flavour of these pairs amazingly with the halloumi.
These pastries make for a lovely appetizer or starter for a dinner pastry or now that the festive season is approaching a Xmas meal. They are also ideal since they can be prepared in advanced and just need to be baked or airfryed once you are ready to enjoy them.

🍽️ 6 portions
Ingredients
1 pack of filo pastry
100g halloumi cheese
100g shredded mozzarella
Lee Kum Kee’s Yuzu Chilli sauce
Olive oil or melted butter
Method
Take your halloumi cheese and grate it into shreds with the coarse side of a grater into a bowl
Prepare the filo pastry by cutting it into squares of approximately 15x15cm with a pair of scissors
Into a muffin tin place 4 pieces of filo pastry by alternating them with each other. Once you have placed the last layer of filo brush them with some melted butter or oil
Take your LKK Yuzu Chilli sauce, give it a good shake and add a dollop of the sauce into the middle of the filo pastry. Then add some of your shredded halloumi and mozzarella (I like to do 60/40) cheese. With your hands close the pastry over the cheeses by scrunching it.
Air fry / bake until golden and then enjoy with some extra Lee Kum Kee Yuzu Chilli sauce sauce on the side! For airfrying I recommend 175C for 12-15 minutes until they turn golden brown. For the oven bake at 180C for 15-20 minutes instead.
